Adoption Is a Picture of the Gospel – God’s adoption of us as His children

At the 35Kcampaign, we believe adoption is a clear picture of what the Gospel is all about. The Bible teaches we were once separated from God because of our sin, and we had no hope on our own. But through Jesus, God did something incredible: He chose to adopt us as His children.

The Love of a Father

Ephesians 1:5 says, “He predestined us for adoption to himself as sons (and daughters) through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.” Adoption was never God's backup plan; it was His Plan A all along. We didn’t deserve a place at His table, or earn our way into His family.

God, the father to the fatherless, gave us His name, His promises, and His unending love.

God, the father to the fatherless, gave us His name, His promises, and His unending love.

When God adopts us, He gives us His name. That means we are no longer outsiders or strangers. We belong to His family. In the Bible, a name often represents identity, and through adoption, God gives us a brand-new identity as His sons and daughters. No matter what our past looks like, no matter our mistakes or failures, when God calls us His children, we have a place where we are known, accepted, and valued forever.

Likewise, as part of God's family we are heirs to His promises. These are not empty words but life-giving truths we can trust. God promises us forgiveness, hope, a future, and an eternal home with Him. His promises tell us we are never alone, He is working all things together for our good, and He is faithful. When a family adopts a child, they make promises too—promises to love, protect, and provide. These promises echo God's faithfulness to us.

Finally, God's love for His children never runs out. It doesn’t change when we make mistakes. It doesn’t weaken over time. His love is steady, constant, and eternal. Earthly adoption gives a child a chance to experience this kind of love in an earthly family. It reflects how God welcomes us, not because we deserve it, but because His love is greater than our brokenness.

Every adoption points to this bigger truth: God has given us His name, His promises, and His unending love. Every child brought home is another beautiful example of the Gospel in action.

The 35Kcampaign exists to help fund the adoptions of vulnerable children into Christian families. We specifically define vulnerable children as those who are older,  have special needs, or are part of a sibling group. Our mission is to empower the adopting family by alleviating the stress of fundraising and providing ample support for these children to be placed in Christian homes where they are assured to hear the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for supporting this mission. Together, we are helping families share the truth of the Gospel—welcoming children into homes where their identity, their future, and their worth are redeemed—just as our Heavenly Father has done for us.
